HATBORO, Pa., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sports Network, the nation's premiere real-time sports wire service, has announced ongoing expansion plans for 2008 predicated upon its continuing success and growth in 2007. "As our client base has increased domestically and internationally," stated Ken Zajac, Sales Director for TSN, "it has, for obvious reasons, become incumbent upon us to magnify and enhance our efforts on a global basis regarding everything from content to technology. After more than a decade of being the leader in the industry our focus is in maintaining that position as we enter 2008 and, to that end, through relationships established over the years, we will now have affiliate offices in Los Angeles, London, Stockholm, New Delhi, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro with others to be announced as we head into the first quarter of the new year.
"Further," he continued, "our depth of coverage is not only going to be escalated but it will be augmented by technology that allows for facile conversion and transition from use of any other existing service seamlessly over a short period of time."
"The technology employed in this effort," added Bruce Michaels, Director of Technology for The Sports Network, "is a combination of the efforts of our own staff and that of XML Team, our long time exclusive partner and, easily, the most advanced organization in the nation when it comes to XML and SportsML."
A spokesperson for editorial content division of The Sports Network indicated that the heightened efforts of the service will include, but not be limited to, extended international soccer, handball, volleyball, equestrian events, cycling, horse racing and rugby, among others. Domestically, it was noted that coverage of MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL, college basketball and football will also be broadened in concert with a greater variety of graphics, widgets and customization for the more than 1,000 sites that are already availing themselves of branded content from TSN.
