Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that Apache Corporation has signed a contract to implement Lawson Global Human Resources, a set of enterprise applications within the Lawson Talent Management Suite. The Texas-based energy company intends to use the Lawson applications as a new foundation to help streamline HR activities throughout its worldwide operations. By implementing Lawson Global Human Resources, Apache will have new tools in place to help manage core aspects of its geographically dispersed workforce. The contract was signed during Lawson's first quarter of fiscal 2010, which ended Aug. 31, 2009.

Apache is an independent energy company that explores for, develops and produces natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids. It has operations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom North Sea, Egypt, Australia and Argentina. With more than 3,000 employees, Apache produces approximately 298,000 barrels of liquid hydrocarbons and 1.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.

The new Lawson applications will provide Apache a new global HR infrastructure, which will help simplify its global HR processes. Specifically, Apache intends to consolidate multiple HR processes running on multiple systems across numerous regions globally. The company is interested in unifying its HR processes, particularly outside of the United States. To achieve this, Apache wants a system that will provide a clear view into its HR data – as well as simple access to the right data, critical to Apache’s HR operations.
